Christy Mae: I began this blog when I moved to Egypt in 2009. Originally, it was composed of entries which took my readers along with me as I walked through daily life in the Middle East, and how an unprepared, spoiled westerner like myself struggled and processed through the adventure. I loved Egypt. I then transitioned into a year Stateside, followed by a journey of my two years in Kurdistan, Iraq. I then moved to coastal Georgia, where I worked in education with the refugee community. The title of my blog was changed from Captions of Cairo to simply, Captions of Christy. Although the stories and experiences shared at this point differ greatly from those posted during my time in Egypt, I can assure you I will remain honest, and raw as I lay out my continued journey, and my responses to what is happening all around me.
